Thursday, March 3rd

The proceedings in court began with the court officer walking in with the defendant, George Milton. You could say that there was a lot of tension between the prosecution lawyers and defense lawyers. Shortly after, the judge asked anyone in the jury or other members of the courtroom to remove any inappropriate garments or hats. The judge and the courtroom listened very closely while George pleaded not guilty. After the opening statements the judge had to bang her gavel several times to ask a member of the courtroom to be quiet. This type of disruption  happened several times after the first. She also had to ask a member of the jury to remove the bandana from his face following her request for the members of the courtroom to remove their hats or inappropriate garments. There were also a significant amount of objections from both sides of the lawyers. Will tomorrow go more smoothly with less objections or will it be even more chaotic? What do you think?

Friday, March 4th

Today's court session started just like yesterday's except that everyone was more interested in the trial and there was a lot more tension between both sides. You could also tell that the lawyers were stressed. There was lots of interaction between the media before the trial started. In the middle of a witness on stand there was some drama between one of the defense lawyers and a witness. One of the defense lawyers also had to remind a witness that he was under oath. Judge Duff also asked the jury to remove inappropriate clothing items once again. Let's see what will happen during the next day of the trial.
